MOINUL HOQUE CHOUDHURY MEMORIAL SCIENCE COLLEGE

Moinul Hoque Choudhury Memorial Science College was established in the year 1997 and is Affiliated to Assam University, Silchar. It currently has 15 departments offering undergraduate and professional programmes. Boasting of good infrastructure quality teaching, the college is fast emerging as a premier institution of science education in Barak valley

Janab Sahidul Alom Choudhury, Ex. Minister of Assam founded the college in the name of Lt. Moinul Hoque Choudhury, Union Minister, Govt of India who was the pioneer of the modern education in Barak valley. Under the leadership of Late Moinul Hoque Choudhury & his efforts the Regional Engineering College (Presently NIT), AIR Station, Silchar Medical College, Cachar Paper Mill etc., were established.

The M.H.C.M. Science College is the only science stream college (affiliated to Assam University. Silchar) in Hailakandi as well as in Barak Valley, which offers courses like B.Sc. (Pass & Hons.), BCA.

The college is situated in a rural area with immense potentialities of academic achievements. Teaching and non-teaching staffs of the college possess good academic career and are known to be sincere & dedicated. The college not only takes interests in academic side rather it also takes interest in different types of Coaching for competitive examinations i.e. Medical, Engineering, Diploma Engineering, etc. for the students of this college. The college has been making steady progress and in course of time it can facilitate various other new courses for the students. The college has full co-operation from the enlightened people of Assam and particularly from the people of Barak Valley.
